The following case is of a 65 year old female with distension of the abdomen and vomiting with constipation. Pre operative work up suggested a large ovarian tumour. On exploratory laparotomy, a 24 by 22 by 14 cm tumour was found which was solid cystic in nature. The tumour was removed en-masse. The total weight was 13 kgs. Patient was discharged on day 7 post surgery.
The interesting fact about this case was the sheer size of the tumour. Weighing a massive 13 kgs, the tumour put enormous pressure on the rest of the organs. Luckily the tumour was benign.
Here are a few photographs on the case. A great way to lose weight!!
